Mod Post Official Optimized Games List

Disclaimer: The list is getting/will get too long to maintain reasonably well so they have been removed, I will only include games I am testing/plan on testing now. To find a specific post use the reddit search bar and type in the game name in, this post was sort of redundant since this feature exists anyways

Coming Soon...

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

Battlefield V

Borderlands 3

Fallout 76

Forza Horizon 4

Gears 5

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint

Hell Let Loose

Hitman 2

Mod Post Optimization Information & Guide

Testing games can often feel like a second job, it requires taking multiple videos in multiple areas for each setting and analyzing the framerate & frametiming and evaluating everything, and if I'm making 2-3 presets for a game it will take even more time. It's entirely optional but if you want to donate to support me you can send money via my Patreon here. If you're not interested in the rewards you can ignore them

Related Subreddits

r/GamingUpscale | r/AMDFidelityFX

Both talk about upscaling/upsampling solutions from information on them, comparisons, how to inject them into games, along with other resolution based performance tips.

―――――――――――

Terminology

Quality Optimized Settings: Quality optimized settings means the difference between the highest preset and these settings are indistinguishable. This is for people who have a powerful GPU and like playing on max settings

Balanced Optimized Settings: Balanced optimized settings means the difference between the highest preset and these settings may be able to be spotted but they are small. Typically only noticeable in side by side images or while zooming in, it would be hard to tell otherwise. This is the standard "iptimized settings" unless specified otherwise

Low Optimized Settings: Low optimized settings means these are the lowest settings possible you can go in a game without destroying the visuals or artstyle. Their is a noticeable difference between this and ultra, but the game still looks like a modern title. Sometimes going to low in games means theirs no shadows and everything is flat. This is best for low end GPUs, very taxing high demand games, or maybe even competitive games where you want very high framerates

Competitive Settings: These are settings which effect player visibility in PvP games. Whichever setting makes the player more visible is what you will want to put to give a competitive advantage however it may result in the game looking slightly to significantly uglier

RT Optimized Settings: This like the balanced ir quality optimized preset but are for ray tracing settings only

Optimization Tips: This is for doing extra stuff other than tweaking in game settings. Using launch arguments, ingame commands, mods, ini tweaks, etc

Optimization Guide / Tips: This is a post flair for posts specially designed for what the section above "optimization tips" does but if it doesn't include the in-game settings and only has the additional tweaks, this is the flair you would use

Optimize Tester vs Verified Optimizer: Optimize Tester is a public flair anyone can select and is for those that test their own games and upload their findings but "Verified Optimizer" is one I bestow to people who show their testing is strenuous and accurate, this is for skeptical users who do not trust or want to trust just anyone's preset. You can rest assured anyone with this flair has trustworthy settings

―――――――――――

Information

Specs: Why are the specs of the PC doing these tests not always given out? Doesn't that make this useless? Especially if its different from mine? Well from previous definitions of optimized settings above, it is obvious that optimized settings typically means testing how taxing a feature is vs how much it improves visuals and evaluating if its worth it. Of course this evaluation will have a different answer depending on if you're doing the quality, balanced, or low version of the optimized settings which is here to help people depending on their specs but the truth is if your optimized settings is turning everything to low then its no longer "optimized" its just a compromise. If you can't use any of the optimized presets listed here for your game then that means you have to accept the fact you will have to sacrifice visuals beyond an "optimized" way to hit your target framerate

Requests: Use this flair to request a game not yet done in this subreddit. Be sure to check the official games list post or to use the subreddit search bar to see if your game has been submitted. Additionally if you want to guarantee it will be tested / you want me (Hybred) to test it their is a good chance I do not own said game, in which case you can donate enough money to buy it via my Patreon and I will as I do not have an infinite amount of money to buy games solely for testing purposes

Optimizing: You can do your own testing and upload your findings too, and help build a collection of optimized presets for gamers. We are a community who builds off each other, so if you're wrong about something someone will correct you and you can update your post & sources. Don't be afraid to give it a shot, refer to this post to see the recommended way of structuring your post

Missing Settings: If a setting is missing from a post that either means it is a subjective setting to your preference or that it should be on its highest preset. Whether or not someone wants to include settings that remain at their highest in their own post is up to them but if one is missing just use the highest. Someone may elect to exclude them due to making the post less cluttered, you can simply use the highest preset (or another if specified) then read the things they have listed and turn them down accordingly pretty quickly

Organization: If you're making an optimized settings post please organize it in the way the game menu displays the settings so it is easier for users to follow and apply. Also refer to this post to see the recommended way of structuring your post

Upscaling/Upsampling: You may use these in your optimized settings but be sure to state which resolution your upsampling preset works well at and remember these are subjective, some people hate upsampers

Optimization Tips

If you don't want to use FSR\DLSS you can use the resolution scaler, tho it's HIGHLY recommended to use DLSS to Nvidia users and FSR to AMD users.

New drivers came out for this game:

Nvidia 511.23

AMD Radeon Adrenalin 22.1.1

Discussion What about DLSS and Image Scaling (Sharpening)

Wondering how we can account for these incredible miracles that are DLSS and Image scaling for those that can benefit from both technologies.

I honestly don’t know how to properly set up either of them.

NVIDIA shows these miracle results where using DLSS and Image Scaling and sharpening can look better than native.

How can we use the optimized settings here along with scaling technologies to truly get the best of both worlds? Incredible images AND awesome FPS!

Optimization Tips

1. Setting texture quality to extra can cause severe stuttering. If this is an issue you experience now or in the future it is recommended you play on high instead, the difference in quality is negligible. This glitch can happen randomly and is more prevalent on certain maps/custom zombie maps

2. Black Ops 3's task priority is set to low by default which is horrible, the following tweak will automatically set it to high everytime you launch the game. Create a text file and paste this into it: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\BlackOps3.exe]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\BlackOps3.exe\PerfOptions] "CpuPriorityClass"=dword:00000003

Afterward rename the .txt to .reg then double click on it and click yes. If high is too much for your computer to handle though due to limited resources you can at least set it to normal by changing the 3 at the end to a 2

Optimization Guide / Tips Optimized Settings: Final Fantasy VII Remake

First of all, this port is really bad and it runs with dynamic resolution by default only to be disabled by a mod. Frame pacing issues and stutters when new content appear on screen, since no pre-load of assets.

There's not much options so, unless you have a really bad gpu I recommend:

Display Mode: Borderless Fullscreen
Resolution: Native of your monitor
Textures: High
Shadows: High
Framerate: 120 no matter what, there's problems in framepacing if you select below, cap your fps at 60 \ 72 depending if you have a 60hz \ 144hz monitor with msi afterburner.
Characters displayed: 10 if you have more than 4core cpu
Dynamic Range: SDR even if you have a HDR monitor below HDR1000

RECOMMENDED MODS:

Dynamic Resolution Disabler

Stuttering fix - DXVK method

Follow the installation guide in each page.

Thats all the recommendations for the best experience and butter smooth gameplay while improving image quality.

Merry Xmas!

Thanks to this sub I am able to play GTA V at 4k with no noticeable difference in graphics quality!

Long live this sub! I've been tinkering with GTA V settings so much in the past and have never found a way to enjoy it at 4k, 60fps. Every time I just felt like I made a big compromise with a setting, so I defaulted to 1440p. With the settings listed here the game looks and plays awesome!

I hope you keep doing this and I hope more and more people discover this sub.
