Yep. This isn’t on the daughter. It’s on the stupid wife

68

u/audiophilistine May 28 '22

It is squarely on the daughter. She came up with the lie. Yes, the mother is stupid for believing it, but the daughter literally broke her family apart with a well placed lie.

This is going to be a sad TIFU story for both mother and daughter.

379

u/Sryn May 28 '22 edited May 28 '22

There’s that AITA from the now ex husband whose wife cheated and her family incl his own daughter ‘supported’ that.

Edit u/5heraz below got the details. I remember the ex husband was a pilot and the new wife was an angel to try to support the now disowned daughter and get him to maybe forgive her.

@ u/MartinSchou I believe so.

I remember reading it at most a couple months back and it might have been one of those post updates that were not done by the OP.

Now I am curious. Do you have link for the post?

276

u/5heraz May 28 '22 edited May 28 '22

Yeah i read that story on a video on youtube by "am i the jerk" . Wife was cheating on the guy with a pos asshole and her family (i.e. mother, sister and daughter) supported her. The daughter hated her biological father and wanted the new mothers boyfriend to be her father. The husband was in a devastated stated and he disowned her and broke off with the wife. This had been goin behind the husbands back for 4 years some time after his mother's death. The husband outed the cheater and his wife's family and doesnt speak to his daughter again. The guy is now happily married to another woman with a son.

Found the link: https://youtu.be/eCEthEUhwXg

30

u/MartinSchou May 28 '22

Is it the one where the guy’s MIL pived with them and was angry that she was being kicked out of his house for supporting her daughter’s cheating?

Most stories in that subreddit are literally like " someone did something bad, am I the asshole for reacting in the proper manner?" So while a lot of things do happen, the ones there did not

55

u/PissKum May 28 '22

The point of the sub isn't to identify the asshole, it's a space for people to vent and occasionally practice writing skills.

17

u/FleeCircus May 28 '22

occasionally

lol it's more than that.

It's an entertaining sub but it cracks me up that people take it so seriously. Most of the stuff wouldn't make it into a Mexican soap opera.

2

u/YahooFantasyCareless May 28 '22

I think there's a certain amount of suspension of disbelief that goes on in there, many know it's most likely not true but they go along with the gag to continue the role play. Like a TV show we all know it's fake but talk about it like there isn't actors pretending.

u/Ok-Seaworthiness4488 May 28 '22

111

When I first read your comment it upset me, but after thinking for a moment, she did believe something there was no evidence for and clearly her reaction ended her relationship... so I agree, sounds like she could have handled this better, even from the very small amount of information she provided.

u/-_-hey-chuvak May 28 '22 edited May 28 '22

The mother should not be forgiven. Reminds me of a story, different circumstances though, anyway this teenage girl went missing, eventually the authorities went to accusing the father as you do oc, and the mother went completely behind their judgment of her husband, believed he’d killed their daughter. And……it was a guy who’d just got out of jail and had seen her walking. Anyway husband filed for divorce, and woman lost both of her family members.

120

u/DrunkReditor May 28 '22

Dang kinda makes you think man

67

u/-_-hey-chuvak May 28 '22

It made me think, mainly thoughts of frustration, sadness, and anger. But eh, that’s life.

17

u/meltingdiamond May 28 '22

Relationships are built on a foundation of trust.

If the trust is lost it really doesn't matter what was atop it.

That's why you can have guys with a weakness for hookers that confess each time to the wife and stay hitched, whereas a dude who hugs a female coworker a little too much will get a divorce. Trust is more important then fidelity.

14

u/Standhaft_Garithos May 28 '22

Trust is important. It's not more important than fidelity. Infidelity is literally a breach of trust. What you said makes no sense.

Mf is living in his own harem hentai fantasy shit 💀

Sleeping with someone else while in a relationship is textbook definition of cheating/breaking trust. Doesn't matter whether you "confess" or not lol. Especially considering "Each time" implies multiple instances of breaking trust of a loyal loving wife

Would you willingly become a cuck if your wife did it in front of you and "confessed" afterwards?

39

u/AgentSteelSaturday May 28 '22 edited May 28 '22

So many couples really don't trust each other.

I remember reading a nurse going on about how a false STD diagnosis can destroy a relationship.

If some of these things can destroy your relationship...it wasn't that strong of a relationship to begin with,

9

u/DirectlyTalkingToYou May 28 '22

I don't understand how things can get that far. Like there would be a lot of conversations that I'd have before breaking. "Listen I didn't cheat, so I want us to investigate together what happened. Let's start with another STD test."

5

u/Non_possum_decernere May 28 '22
