u/juventinn1897 Jan 22 '22

Random as fuck thing to ask?

Not that I don't want her to. You could always imagine this one is of the River Lum

2

u/Fluffy_Town Jan 22 '22

I love that this is reminiscent of Van Gogh but in a totally different medium. He's my fav artist for multiple reasons.

Thank you!

Small portraits are usually $500, medium $750, and large $1000+. This is pretty cheap when you factor in materials, time spent, skill required, and how each piece is basically an original.

I just placed a custom order for a large landscape piece and gave her my specific requests. Wait is about 4 months since she's just one person, but it's totally worth it! This is coming from someone who never buys art, so her stuff is really special.

137

u/DejectedSoul Jan 22 '22

Thank you for crediting! Her art is awesome! It reminds me of van Gogh paintings.

Wonderful work, trippy (and a little Van Gogh "starry night")

138

u/KCWildLife Jan 22 '22

Yeah I thought it looked like a 3D Van Gogh, didnt like is at all at first but it looks great all finished! So cool

3

u/Elkmare Jan 22 '22

She did starry night you can find it on her insta. Beautiful

With a touch of LucasArts graphics. I love it.

13

u/Javyev Jan 22 '22

I like the part where they stick the clay on the picture.

9

u/phpdevster Jan 22 '22

Damn, now I want to see this same technique used to reproduce Starry Night.

4

u/aleherselfie Jan 22 '22

I literally came here to say this. Amazing!

Wooow... looks kind of yummy

20

u/hciwdnassybra Jan 22 '22

I was just thinking I really want to make this out of cake and fondant!!

8

u/idwthis Jan 22 '22

r/fondanthate

Sorry, but fondant, while it can look amazing artistically, is just sugar flavored play doh and isn't as fun to eat as it is to look at when it's done right. I'd rather eat actual play doh lol

6

u/hciwdnassybra Jan 22 '22

Honestly I agree with you, I hate the taste of fondant. I peel it off anytime I encounter it. I selfishly enjoy it as an edible artistic medium knowing that it’s shit to eat. I feel like buttercream maybe could also work for this design, it would definitely taste better.

/u/liskaflower, is this you?

7

u/haydesigner Jan 22 '22

It was already acknowledged as her earlier.

30

u/Komosatuo Jan 22 '22

The urge to slowly moosh my hand into the middle of that, and the equally strong desire to fight against that same urge and respect the beauty and time and skill involved and just enjoy the damn thing was a battle whose scale I was not prepared to face late on a Friday night...

That is some incredible work you've done!

I need to touch it!

47

u/personofinterest18 Jan 22 '22

I want one. Who’s the artist?

34

u/Vostok32 Jan 22 '22

u/liskaflower is the creator of this masterpiece

17

u/SkipToTheBestPart Jan 22 '22

I too want one, I second this request.

24

u/allidoisruindreams Jan 22 '22

Holy shit. My high school art teacher thought he created this method of clay on canvas painting and sold his shitty work online.

You have made me realize his idea wasn't shitty - he was.

This is amazing. Don't stop. 💯

u/Pax-82 Jan 22 '22

I’m very curious! How do you set it? Heat or clearcoat or something? I feel like it would all fall apart if you lifted it up otherwise.

Great art piece!

6

u/CartographerNo8851 Jan 22 '22

How do they get the pieces to stay? Is it glued? Is the clay sticky enough to hold together? If you turned this piece upside down, would half the pieces come out?

5

u/boringusername84 Jan 22 '22

I was wondering the same thing. And also, do you display it with a glass over or will you have to carefully clean it when it gets dusty?

5

u/fishgrin Jan 22 '22

Wow, that is so cool, beautiful!

5

u/FooKingsOC Jan 22 '22

FREAKIN' WOW AWESOME!!!😍 ...I could see children's storybooks illustrated with this art style as it's so visually appealing and engaging!!!!😁👍🏻

I don’t smell

4

u/Burbel Jan 22 '22

Neither do I

4

u/AlphaMomma59 Jan 22 '22

Do you use air dry clay, or oven baked clay? This is wonderful! I love the motion effect that 3-D gives.

4

u/PErJU_ Jan 22 '22

And then you forgot to use the glue 💀

15

u/BenchedSett Jan 22 '22

This or an NFT of a monkey? I'd like this one.

9

u/wappp_ Jan 22 '22

That's was waayyy WAAAYY better than I's expected it too, now cover it up real quick with something, I hate thinking about someone accidentally pressing something against it. 😬

2

u/mykoysmaster Jan 22 '22

I'm getting some Vincent van Gogh stary night vibes.

2

u/PunD3Sal Jan 22 '22

i think its awesome to do starry night with this technique...

5

u/Meow_ify Jan 22 '22

Lots of effort, i really like the detail and design of every piece of clay, and how each piece of clay fits to create a wonderful illusion and texture to describe sky, grass, clouds, and water.

6

u/phillpots_land Jan 22 '22

You're gonna hate dusting that.

2

u/MV3MV3 Jan 22 '22

expressionism clay art. absolutely amazing!

9

u/Lovebot_AI Jan 22 '22

Wouldn’t this be Impressionism?

2

u/eltaf92 Jan 22 '22

This makes me itchy.

2

u/vanquish421 Jan 22 '22

I can't help but feel there might be even more contrast, and therefore even more 3D effect, if there were just a single flat texture. Like maybe the sky.

3

u/NotThatChar Jan 22 '22

I agree. I think the sky should've been flat. It really would've made the clouds pop.

2

u/Uh0hStinkypoopfunny Jan 22 '22

2

u/SoniasWay Jan 22 '22

I wonder how much time it took

2

My cranium has detonated. That is the most voluminous big brain thing to do artistically ever! Imma try that and get back to you.

I did something similar in my college dorm so that I could see a landscape out my window. Both the window and landscape were clay stuck to a cinder block wall. There was a window but it looked out to a concrete wall.

1
